Iowa Biodiesel Board Applauds House Passage of Biodiesel Tax Credit Clarification
July 3, 2025
(ANKENY, Iowa) –– The Iowa Biodiesel Board today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for passing legislation that includes an extension and clarification of the biodiesel tax incentive, known as Section 45Z, a critical step that now sends the bill to President Trump’s desk for signature.
“As the country embarks on a yearlong celebration of the 250th anniversary of Independence, this is an important win and absolute necessity for American-made energy and next-generation infrastructure, in addition to biodiesel producers, soybean farmers and rural communities in Iowa,” said Grant Kimberley, executive director of the Iowa Biodiesel Board. “The biodiesel tax incentive, including the Small Agri-biodiesel Producer Credit, provides much-needed certainty for producers and investors, while the clarification on eligibility included in this bill ensures this incentive continues supporting domestic biodiesel. This policy has proven effective time and again in spurring American-made energy and the new industrial revolution.”
Kimberley thanked Iowa’s House delegation for their support and leadership on the issue—Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Ashley Hinson and Zach Nunn, and especially the efforts made by Rep. Randy Feenstra as a member of the Ways and Means committee to ensure that biofuel credits remained in the original House version of the bill. The entire Iowa congressional delegation in the House and Senate were instrumental in helping to ensure that Iowa’s biodiesel investments can thrive into the future, he said.
