Edgar Castro

Edgar Castro serves as the General Manager of Operations for Biodiesel and Renewable Diesel at Chevron. In this role he oversees a global portfolio of biorefineries that includes eight biodiesel plants located across the U.S. and Germany, as well as one renewable diesel plant located in the Gulf region.  

With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Mr. Castro has held leadership roles in both upstream and downstream operations across diverse geographies including Texas, Colorado, Kuwait, Indonesia, Brazil, Venezuela, and now Iowa. His career reflects a deep commitment to operational excellence and sustainable energy development.

Mr. Castro holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from Rice University. He currently resides in the Des Moines metro region with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, Mr. Castro enjoys reading non-fiction, cooking, exploring craft brews, and playing sports with his daughters.
