Mark Cobb elected chair of Iowa Biodiesel Board
An oil man of 32 years who also became a biodiesel producer has been tapped to lead the state’s thriving biodiesel industry.
Mark Cobb is vice president of Iowa Renewable Energy, based in Washington, Iowa. The biodiesel plant employs 23 people and has the capacity to produce 30 million gallons of biodiesel a year. He’s also president of Cobb Oil, a petroleum distributor based in Brighton, Iowa.

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad has appointed IBB Executive Director Randy Olson to the 2012 Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Board.
Iowa is a national leader in biodiesel production.
Biodiesel is a cleaner-burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but can be blended at any level with diesel to create a blend.
Iowa biodiesel producers play a critical role in providing the nation with America's only Advanced Biofuel. This economic activity benefits all of Iowa.
