IBB Asks EPA to Raise Biodiesel Volumes Under RFS

The Chair of the Iowa Biodiesel Board asked the Environmental Protection Agency to set higher requirements for biodiesel under the federal Renewable Fuel Standard. Testifying at an EPA hearing in Michigan, IBB joined the National Biodiesel and its members in asking EPA to set the 2020 Biomass-based Diesel volume at 2.8 billion gallons, rather than the 2.43 billion gallons currently proposed.

New Biodiesel Food Safety Program available for biodiesel producers!

The Iowa Biodiesel Board has developed a Food Safety Program for biodiesel producers, designed to assist producers who want to sell glycerin, a byproduct of biodiesel production, for use as an animal food ingredient.

Biodiesel is a cleaner-burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but can be blended at any level with diesel to create a blend.
